An automatic box is a machine in your house that handles waste. It saves scooping; it does not remove maintenance.
What is automated
Raking or rotating waste into a sealed compartment after the cat leaves. The compartment still has to be emptied, typically weekly.
What is not
The base still needs washing. Sensors need wiping. Clumping litter of the right type is usually mandatory rather than optional.
Introduce it slowly
Leave the mechanism off for the first week so the cat accepts the box as furniture before it starts moving.
